Minister of State for Prime Minister and Cabinet Affairs, Adel Jumaa asked Chairperson of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Emad Al-Din Al-Sayeh to provide the cabinet with the requirements needed to complete the electoral process.

Jumaa pointed out that the request came according to the instructions of Prime Minister Abdel-Hamid Dbaiba, which stipulates the need to communicate with HNEC to support its capabilities.

During a meeting with Al-Sayeh last month, Dbaiba confirmed that he would aid the commission so that it could complete the elections process as scheduled.

The PM stressed the importance of opening dialogue channels with the competent authorities, within the constitutional framework. This is with the aim of creating the necessary legal mechanisms so that HNEC can achieve its goal of holding the elections on 24 December 2021.
