Libya’s Interim PM Calls for Facilitating Entry of Basic Necessities to Face COVID-19

On Sunday, the Prime Minister of the Libyan Interim Government Abdullah Al-Thani discussed the implementation of government measures taken to close all land, sea and air ports.

During a meeting held with the Chairman of the Public Transport Authority Mohamed Ali Abdul Qadir, the Prime Minister reviewed the functioning of mechanisms put together to ensure the entry of basic necessities in light of the current coronavirus crisis.

He also tackled the operational mechanisms of land, sea and air entry points in the last few days, so as to ensure the application of all preventive and precautionary measures set by the government to curb the coronavirus epidemic in Libya.

Al-Thani stressed the necessity to follow the measures announced by the Supreme Committee to Combat Coronavirus, which is fully coordinating with the Prime Minister to address the deadly virus.

It is noteworthy that the Libyan National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), announced that the number of coronavirus-infected cases increased to 18, including one death.
