The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, will participate in the meeting with the neighboring countries of Libya. It is being held in Algeria with the participation of the Foreign Ministers of Egypt, Tunisia, Sudan, Chad, Niger and representatives of the United Nations (UN) and the African Union (AU).
The meeting, hosted by Algeria, comes within the framework of efforts to find a solution to the Libyan crisis and is the second after the meeting held on January 22nd.
On Saturday, Algeria officially announced that it will host a ministerial meeting of Libya’s neighboring countries on Monday, with the aim of finding a political solution to the crisis in the country, Sky News Arabia reported on Sunday.
During his visit to Tunisia five days ago, Algerian Foreign Minister, Ramtane Lamamra, revealed that his country will host the meeting.
He also stressed the importance of the regional participation to solve the Libyan crisis.
