Italian Envoy To Libya Praises COVID-19 Efforts

Giuseppe Buccino, Italian Ambassador to Libya, praised efforts made by the Libyan government and the Ministry of Health in confront the global COVID-19 pandemic.

During a meeting with Presidential Council member Ahmed Maetiq, in the city of Misrata, the two discussed the latest developments of the conflict, between the Libyan National Army (LNA) and forces loyal to the Government of National Accord (GNA).

Maetiq described the LNA as ‘hostile forces’ who had intentionally targeted one of Libya’s main power stations, resulting in a total electricity blackout of the western region. He also claimed that the LNA had also cut off the the Man Made River water supply to Tripoli.
