Foreign Companies Encouraged to Return to Libya

On Wednesday, Libyan Minister of Oil, Mohamed Aoun said that the stability being witnessed by Libya is encouraging foreign companies to return to the country.

In his speech to the Arab-German Business Forum in Berlin, Aoun addressed the issue of investment in the fields of oil and gas, renewable energy, and green hydrogen. He expressed his appreciation for the efficiency and experience of German companies in various fields.

The minister stressed that Libya would encourage the return of these companies to complete various projects.

Libya is participating in the 24th edition of the Arab-German Economic Forum, held in Berlin. The forum will be held from the 4-6 October.

The Libyan Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Hawij, and the Minister of Oil and Gas, Mohamed Aoun participated in the forum.

The forum is considered one of the largest gatherings and meetings for Arab and German businessmen and economists. One of its most important goals is to “create an appropriate framework for establishing and activating the network of communication and real cooperation between the economies of the two parties, whether through government institutions and bodies, or businessmen and economists.”

The forum aims to reach successful and effective cooperation between Arab and German companies.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Economy, the Libyan delegation met with German officials to discuss bilateral investment opportunities. As well as to support and develop economic relations between the two countries.

The Libyan delegation also included the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Investment Promotion and Privatization Affairs, Dr. Jamal Al-Nuwaisari. It was also attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Electricity Company (GECOL), Wiam Al-Abdali, and the Libyan Ambassador to Germany.
