Tunisia Mobilizes Military on Libyan Borders

Tunisian military units stationed on its southeastern border with Libya have been put on high alert, amid renewed fighting in Libya close to the border with Tunisia.

Military units were put on high alert to avoid the conflict spilling into Tunisian territory. The Tunisian border has been closed since mid-March due to fears of a COVID-19 outbreak.

Forces loyal to the Tripoli based Government of National Accord managed to regain several coastal cities in the west of the country from the Libyan National Army on April 13.
