On Thursday, Libya’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced a new COVID-19 patient had been discovered in the country, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 60.
The NCDC said that only a single positive case was detected out of the 97 suspected samples it tested. It added that the patient in question had had contact with a previously confirmed case.
Libya’s fight against COVID-19 has resulted in a total of 60 cases, 15 recoveries and one death.
Daily testing of dozens of people is being carried out by the NCDC to monitor and prevent the spread of the virus.
Both governments in Libya have taken a series of stringent precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the country, including countrywide curfews and the closure of its borders.
