On Wednesday, the Libyan National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported a new COVID-19 case in the country, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Libya up to 64.

In its latest statement, the NCDC added that the last batch of 254 suspected samples had all tested negative for the virus.

Libya currently has 41 active cases under medical observation, 24 successful recoveries and 3 deaths.

Several Arab countries have tightened restrictions on movement and travel with the aim of curbing the spread of the virus.

Billions of dollars have been pledged in economic stimulus packages around the world to reduce the economic repercussions of the crisis.
