On Monday, the Director of the International Health Oversight Office at the Ras Ajdir border post, Mokhtar Al-Mansouri, announced that 47 Libyans had returned home from Tunisia through the border crossing.

In a statement, Al-Mansouri said that the returnees had been discharged from hospitals in Tunisia after two weeks of mandatory quarantine.

He added that their medical test results had all proved negative to COVID-19.

Libyan workers, mainly lorry drivers, have also been stranded in Tunisia since Libya closed its borders on March 17 to stop the spread of the Coronavirus.

On Monday, Libya’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced that no new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country.

In a statement, the NCDC added that the latest batch of 178 suspected cases had all tested negative for the virus.

The total number of Coronavirus cases in Libya remains at 65, with 33 active cases under medical observation, 35 successful recoveries, and 3 deaths.
