On Sunday, Libyan National Army (LNA) spokesman Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari said that its airforce had started “restoring sovereignty” to a number of regions in the country.

In a press conference, Al-Mismari stated that reports claiming that the LNA was withdrawing were false.

He said that many structural changes took place over the last 72 hours and that military operations continued.

Mismari claimed that the airforce is set to play a larger role and had downed more than 13 Turkish-made drones in southern Tripoli.

Meanwhile, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the number of Syrian fighters who have arrived in Libya has reached around 10,000 with a further 3,400 still undergoing training in Turkey.
