A Syrian mother has narrated the story of her two sons, who are fighting in Libya.

Turkey has sent thousands of similar fighters of Syrian origin to fight alongside the Government of National Accord against the Libyan National Army (LNA).

Speaking to Al Arabiya and Al-Hadath channel, Om Khalid, a displaced woman from Idlib said that one of her sons told her that he will move to Tripoli to fight, which she refused.

She explained that her two sons had gone to fight in Libya for the money promised by Turkey and the Syrian armed factions it supports.

Om Khalid explained that her two sons were transferred first to Afrin and then to Turkey, where they boarded a plane to Libya.

In this context, she emphasized that the financial rewards promised by Turkey had not been fulfilled.

“They didn’t pay my sons what they had promised,” she said.

She explained that one of her sons sent her 100,000 Syrian pounds, while the other sent 1,400 TL, hoping to send more later.

However, they have not sent money to their family for two months since they arrived in Libya.

Om Khalid continued: “my children regret participating in the fighting in Libya.”

She believes that the adventure is not worth it, calling on Syrian youth not to fight in Libya.

She added: “my son told me not to let anyone join him in Libya.”

She said that the real war is in Syria, adding that the money would not compensate for the human dignity that is lost on foreign fronts.
