The Japanese Embassy in Libya has discussed the return of Japanese companies and resuming their work in Libya with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting included the Libyan Charge d’Affaires in Japan, the National Oil Corporation, and several Japanese institutions representing the energy sector.

The focus of the meeting was to encourage Japanese companies to return to Libya’s oil and gas industry, through exploration and investment in the sector. The Japanese government has invited interested companies to participate in the development and growth plans of the country.

Following the meeting, Japanese Charge d’Affairs, Masaki Amidera expressed optimism about the future of Japanese companies in Libya. He added that “the discussion was productive, and the Japanese government is committed to providing all possible support to Japanese companies that want to invest in Libya.”

This move is expected to bolster the economy of Libya, which has been struggling with the effects of the ongoing conflict. It will also create job opportunities for locals, and further enhance the cooperation between Libya and Japan.

The Libyan government has welcomed Japan’s interest in investing in its energy sector, and has assured the Japanese companies that they will receive all the necessary support and assistance to operate successfully in Libya.

This promising development is an excellent opportunity for Japanese companies to expand their operations in Libya, and contribute to the country’s economic growth. By returning to Libya, Japanese firms will play a significant role in developing the country’s infrastructure and creating employment opportunities for the local population.

Notably, Amadera expressed his support for the efforts of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), to enable elections this year.

The UN Envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily said he met with Amadera and discussed with him the latest political developments. The Japanese diplomat also expressed Tokyo’s support for the United Nations’ humanitarian work in Libya.
