Libyan Parliament Speaker and UK Ambassador Discuss Solutions to Libyan Crisis

The Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives (HOR) Ageela Saleh received a telephone call from UK Ambassador to Libya Nicholas Hopton. The two discussed the latest developments in Libya and possible solutions to the ongoing crisis.

According to Saleh’s spokesman, Abdullah Bleihaq, the two sides discussed the peace initiative announced by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and dubbed the ‘Cairo Declaration’. The latter is based on the political initiative previously called for by Saleh.

According to an official statement, the two also discussed a number of ways to enhance bilateral relations and cooperation.
