The Libyan national volleyball team commenced their African campaign with a 3-1 win over Ghana. The thrilling match was part of the prestigious African Championship held in Cairo.
A detailed breakdown of the sets shows the Libyan team clinched the first set 25-23, while Ghana fought back to win the second set 25-18. However, Libya’s resilience shone through, securing the third set 25-15, and the fourth set 25-20.
The championship inauguration was replete with various segments, including a presentation of the participating teams. As well as an artistic display celebrating traditional ancient Egyptian attire. This edition of the tournament sees participation from 15 national teams, grouped into four categories:
Group 1: Egypt, Algeria, Burundi
Group 2: Tunisia, Mali, Tanzania, Chad
Group 3: Libya, Cameroon, Kenya, Ghana
Group 4: Morocco, Rwanda, Senegal, Gambia
Hosts, Egypt asserted their prowess right from the start. They effortlessly outplayed Burundi in the opening match, sealing a decisive 3-0 victory with set scores of 25-10, 25-8, and 25-11.
