Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, Ageela Saleh, held talks on Monday with Turkey’s Ambassador to Libya, Güven Begeç, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting addressed ways to enhance collaboration across political and economic fields and opportunities to deepen coordination on issues of mutual interest. Both sides reviewed recent developments in Libya and the wider region, exchanging views on current challenges and potential areas of partnership.

Discussions also highlighted the importance of maintaining open communication channels between Libya and Turkey, particularly in light of ongoing regional dynamics and efforts aimed at supporting stability and political progress. The two officials emphasized that constructive dialogue remains essential for advancing shared interests and fostering stronger ties.

During the meeting, Ambassador Begec extended an official invitation to Aqeela Saleh to visit Turkey. The invitation reflects Ankara’s continued engagement with Libya’s legislative institutions and its interest in strengthening diplomatic relations at multiple levels.

The talks come as Libya continues to navigate a complex political landscape, with international partners playing a role in encouraging dialogue and cooperation among Libyan stakeholders. Turkey remains one of the key regional actors involved in Libyan affairs, maintaining political and economic ties with various institutions.

The meeting signals ongoing diplomatic engagement between Libya and Turkey, as both sides seek to explore practical avenues for cooperation while addressing broader regional developments.
