On Wednesday, Fawzi Al-Nuwairi, the First Deputy Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR), met with Jeremy Brant, the Chargé d’Affaires at the United States Embassy to Libya.

The meeting, held at the Libyan parliamentary headquarters in Benghazi, focused on analyzing Libya’s political situation and exploring potential strategies for political resolution.

During the talks, Al-Nuwairi shared the Parliament’s views on the United Nations’ proposed peace roadmap, led by UN’s Special Envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily.

Discussions covered various aspects of the Libyan crisis, with a focus on finding sustainable solutions to end hostilities and achieve political reconciliation.

A significant topic was the preparation for upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections, seen as crucial steps toward restoring national governance and promoting stability and democracy in Libya.
