An Italian medical team conducted spinal surgeries for muscular dystrophy patients at the Misrata Medical Center on Sunday. According to a statement on its Facebook page, the Misrata Center highlighted that the team specializing in spinal deformities and congenital malformations is part of an initiative to integrate international medical expertise, offering appropriate treatment and medical diagnosis under the supervision and support of the Medical Services Development Agency.
The center added that the team’s visit coincides with the International Conference on Localizing Treatment Inside the Country, organized by the agency with support from the Dbeibeh government, themed “Localizing Treatment Inside – Restoring Life.”
Notably, Libya’s Administrative Control Authority (ACA) and Italy have pledged to strengthen their cooperation, particularly in the fields of oversight and combating corruption. In a meeting at the ACA headquarters in Tripoli, ACA head Abdullah Qadarboh and Italian Ambassador Gianluca Alberini discussed enhancing bilateral ties and advancing ongoing collaborative projects.
The discussions, highlighted in a Facebook post by the ACA, focused on bolstering cooperation across various sectors and pursuing joint initiatives. The meeting emphasized the importance of collaboration between Italy’s Guardia di Finanza and its anti-corruption agency to open new cooperation avenues in oversight and anti-corruption efforts.
Qadarboh expressed that this meeting underscores the ACA’s dedication to international cooperation and the strengthening of bilateral relations in oversight and anti-corruption, aiming for an exchange of expertise to achieve common goals.
