Libya’s Al-Mnifi Calls for Youth Engagement in Reconciliation

On Sunday, the President of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Mnifi met with the Youth Council of the Souq Al-Juma and the surrounding areas to discuss the role of youth in supporting elections and national reconciliation.

Al-Mnifi emphasised the importance of enhancing youth participation in national endeavors, highlighting their crucial role in supporting elections and shaping the path of national reconciliation to lead the country towards stability. This statement was issued in a brief release from the Presidential Council.

Earlier, Al-Mnifi discussed the security situation in Tripoli during his meeting with several dignitaries and municipalities of the capital.

On Saturday, the President of the Presidential Council spoke about tangible progress in various political and security files in Libya. He mentioned that this progress has enabled international energy companies to return to work in Libya, engaging in exploration, production, and development activities.

Al-Mnifi revealed Libya’s plans to launch major projects to increase natural gas production capacity and develop promising reserves. He stated that Libya is planning significant projects to boost natural gas production capacity

Libya is aiming to develop promising reserves. He addressed the 7th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum in Algeria, where he discussed Libya’s efforts to achieve cooperation that enables African producers to access global and European markets.

The engagement of Libyan youth in national initiatives such as elections and reconciliation is crucial for the country’s progress. President Al-Mnifi’s emphasis on youth involvement underscores the recognition of their potential to contribute to Libya’s stability and development.

The President’s discussions on security and economic progress demonstrate Libya’s commitment to addressing key challenges and harnessing its energy resources for economic growth. By prioritising projects to enhance gas production, Libya aims to leverage its natural resources to benefit both domestic and international markets.
