Members of the House of Representatives who are also members of the Arab Parliament participated in the permanent committee meetings of the Arab Parliament, held yesterday, Thursday, in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
Member of Parliament Ahlam Al-Lafi chaired the meeting of the Social, Educational, Cultural, Women, and Youth Committee of the Arab Parliament. Additionally, MP Hassan Al-Barghouthi, a member of the Political and Foreign Affairs Committee, participated in the committee’s meeting.
MP Abu Salah Shalabi also took part in the Legislative, Legal, and Human Rights Committee meeting. Moreover, MP Dr. Abdul Salam Nasia, a member of the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee of the Arab Parliament, attended the committee’s meeting.
These committees discussed several issues and problems concerning the Arab nation, with the Palestinian issue at the forefront. These meetings are in preparation for the general session of the Arab Parliament, scheduled to be held next Saturday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League.
Last May, Libyan Member of Parliament Miloud Al-Aswad participated in the executive bureau meetings and the expanded meeting of the high-level parliamentary working group for technology, innovation, and digital transformation, affiliated with the Arab Parliament. The meetings were held at the Jordanian House of Representatives (HoR) over three days and concluded on Thursday.
During the meetings, a summary of the previous executive bureau meeting held in February was presented, along with discussions on the implementation of its recommendations. Additionally, the vacancy of the executive bureau member position representing the Omani Shura Council was discussed.
Furthermore, visual presentations were given by experts from the King Abdullah Fund on preparing a general proposal for the ethical charter of the group. An additional presentation was made on the proposal to establish an electronic network among national parliaments aimed at strengthening relationships, exchanging experiences, and discussing and adopting arrangements for holding a conference on technology and innovation.
