The Libyan Ministry of Interior held a meeting today, Monday, between Major General Faraj Egaim, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior of the Libyan Government, and the Consul General of Egypt in Libya, Mohamed Arafa. The meeting also included the participation of the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture in Benghazi, Saleh Al-Mabrouk.
During the meeting, Major General Egaim highlighted the deep historical and fraternal ties between Libya and Egypt, commending the ongoing cooperation between the two nations. He assured Egypt’s consular mission of full support and expressed the Ministry of Interior’s readiness to offer all necessary assistance to ensure optimal services for both Libyan citizens and Egyptian residents in the country.
Consul General Mohamed Arafa, in turn, expressed his appreciation for Libya’s efforts to enhance security and stability across the country. He affirmed Egypt’s unwavering support for Libya’s path towards development and reconstruction, praising the progress made in improving security conditions, which has positively impacted the daily lives of citizens.
The discussions also focused on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various sectors, particularly in security and economic domains. Both parties emphasised the importance of activating existing agreements and protocols between the two nations. They explored methods to enhance joint efforts in combating organised crime and terrorism, as well as fostering trade and investment exchanges. The meeting concluded with both sides expressing their intent to leverage the available resources in both countries to serve the interests of their peoples.
