A delegation from the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) and its affiliated companies participated in the Mediterranean Offshore Conference (MOC 2024), held in Alexandria from October 20 to 22.

The conference focused on key issues within the oil and gas sector, including field development and management, sustainable reuse of offshore infrastructure, and the application of cutting-edge well-control technologies to improve operational efficiency and safety standards.

MOC 2024 also showcased the latest technical innovations aimed at enhancing production capacity and fostering sustainable growth, following best environmental and economic practices.

The NOC’s Oil Research Center contributed two research papers during the conference. The first paper presented a permeability model utilizing various methods, including electrical charges and machine learning algorithms. The second paper focused on integrating well pressure data and fluid characterization to optimize reservoir modeling and production strategies.

These research contributions were well-received by participants and attendees, with many commending the high scientific and professional value of the work, highlighting the advanced capabilities and expertise within Libya’s oil sector.

On the sidelines of the conference, the NOC delegation, invited by the Chairman of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), held a meeting with EGPC’s leadership and representatives from Egyptian oil companies. Discussions centered on opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation across various petroleum fields.

The NOC’s participation in MOC 2024 aligns with its strategy to modernize operations and boost efficiency, ultimately contributing to increased oil production and strengthening Libya’s national economy.
