A tragic incident occurred in Tarhuna, Libya, where a 47-year-old homemaker fatally shot her husband, using an AK-47 assault rifle.
The heartbreaking event unfolded after her husband remarried another woman without her approval, leading to severe emotional distress and ultimately resulting in the deadly confrontation.
The Tarhuna Security Directorate reported that the incident was promptly reported to the Daoun Police Station.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the firearm used in the murder was borrowed from the accused woman’s neighbor. The weapon belonged to the neighbor’s husband, a retired military officer, implicating the neighbor in the case.
According to information circulating on social media, the motive behind the crime stemmed from the husband’s decision to marry a second woman without the consent of his first wife.
This decision triggered intense anger and feelings of betrayal in the first wife, driving her to commit the fatal act.
Upon receiving the report, Libyan security forces swiftly apprehended both the accused woman and her neighbor, who facilitated access to the weapon used in the crime. Both individuals have been detained and are currently in custody as the Public Prosecution continues its investigation.
Legal proceedings are underway to determine the appropriate charges and consequences for those involved.
The Tarhuna Security Directorate emphasized its commitment to upholding justice and ensuring the safety of all citizens.
