The Chairman of Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC), Massoud Suleiman, announced the relocation of Zallaf and Akakus Oil Companies to their new headquarters in southern Libya. The statement was made during the first General Assembly meeting of the NOC and its subsidiaries in the city of Sabha.

The meetings, held in Benghazi, Tripoli, and Sabha, are reviewing key performance indicators for 2024 and assessing progress towards last year’s targets. The discussions also include proposals for the 2025 operational plan.

Suleiman described the General Assembly meetings as a vital annual opportunity for self-assessment. He expressed optimism about the future of Libya’s oil sector, stating that 2025 could be a year of prosperity if adequate funding is provided for maintenance, development, and new projects.

The NOC chairman outlined three primary goals for the coming year: boosting oil production to maximise revenue, expanding storage capacity to enhance efficiency, and improving workforce training to ensure Libyan professionals match global industry standards.

During Wednesday’s session, the NOC reviewed completed projects by Waha Oil, Mellitah Oil & Gas, and the National Catering Company for 2024. The discussions also covered proposed 2025 projects and the necessary budget allocations for their execution.
