This Saturday morning, the Libyan-Russian Economic Forum kicked off in the city of Benghazi. The event is organized by the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in partnership with the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, and the Benghazi Chamber of Commerce. This initiative follows directives from Dr. Abdel-Hadi Al-Hweij, the Libyan Foreign Minister.

The opening ceremony saw a gathering of businessmen and officials from numerous Russian companies, aimed at forging new partnerships and collaborative ventures between Libya and Russia. The forum focuses on exploring and addressing priority issues such as diversifying income sources and supporting both the public and private sectors.

Representatives from Libya’s Ministry of Economy, the Investment Promotion Authority, the Ministry of Technical Education, the Benghazi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Association, and the Russian Businessmen Association attended the event. Several of Russia’s major companies were also present.

The forum concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Russian Businessmen Association and the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture of Libya, sponsored by the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
