On Tuesday, members of the Libyan House of Representatives wrapped up their visit to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, by visiting the headquarters of the Egyptian Parliament, where they met with the Speaker, Counselor Dr. Hanafy El-Gebali, and several Egyptian MPs.
In a statement from the spokesperson of the Libyan House of Representatives, El-Gebali welcomed the Libyan delegation, emphasizing the deep fraternal relations between Libya and Egypt and the significance of the shared destiny of the two nations.
El-Gebali also expressed the Egyptian Parliament’s support for the outcomes of the Cairo meetings between members of the Libyan House of Representatives and the State Council. He praised the recommendations that contribute to achieving stability in Libya and enhancing the political process towards presidential and parliamentary elections.
Furthermore, El-Gebali affirmed Egypt’s full support for the Libyan national institutions and their role in fulfilling the aspirations of the Libyan people.
For their part, the members of the Libyan House of Representatives expressed their gratitude to the Arab Republic of Egypt, its leadership, parliament, government, and people, for hosting the meetings and their ongoing support for the stability of Libya and the realization of the Libyan people’s will.
