Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, is set to meet his German counterpart, Heiko Maas, during an official visit to Moscow on Tuesday.

The Deputy Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Alexey Zaytsev, stated that there will be an in-depth exchange of views on a number of international crises, including Ukraine, Syria, and Libya.

“There is also an exchange of views regarding the development of a joint action plan regarding the Iranian nuclear program, as well as global stability and strategic security”, Zaytsev said.

Libya has been marred in chaos since the ouster, and killing of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011. It now has two rival authorities and a multitude of militias vying for control of the country. The Government of National Accord (GNA), is based in Tripoli, while Khalifa Haftar, the commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA), supports a parallel administration based in the east.
