The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Nasr Al-Mansouri, President of Derna University, and an ICESCO delegation headed by Sabah Al-Maghrabi, ICESCO’s Secretary in Libya.
Participants include faculty from Derna University, representatives from the Derna Municipality Council and the Directorate of Security, social workers from the education departments in Derna and Al-Qubah, as well as members of civil society organisations.
The sessions are led by a team of international specialists and academic experts from Derna University. The programme focuses on best practices in crisis response, psychological support mechanisms, and strategies to assist vulnerable populations affected by disasters.
