France has reiterated its support for Libya’s Audit Bureau in its efforts to strengthen good governance, transparency, and financial oversight across public institutions.

During a meeting with Audit Bureau President Khaled Shakshak, French Ambassador to Libya Mustapha Mihraje expressed his country’s commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation in transparency and fiscal monitoring, according to a statement published by the Bureau on Facebook.

The ambassador stressed the importance of joint efforts to confront Libya’s current challenges and the need to develop institutional tools that improve governance and oversight capacity.

The meeting highlighted the pivotal role of the Audit Bureau in promoting accountability and responsible public financial management through its annual reports, which aim to optimize resource utilization and combat corruption.

President Shakshak underscored the need for ongoing oversight to ensure fairness in public spending and to uphold integrity in state affairs.

Earlier the same day, Ambassador Mihraje also met with Administrative Control Authority Chairman Abdullah Qaderbuh to discuss the general economic situation in Libya and to explore ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation in regulatory affairs.
