A Nigerian Arrested on Charges of Human Trafficking and Smuggling to Libya.

On Saturday, the police command in the Nigerian state of Katsina arrested Abu Bakr Habibu on charges of human trafficking in the Dora local government area in the state.

State Command Spokesman, SB Jumbo Issa, said in a statement that the defendant was arrested at a police checkpoint along Congolom Dora Road in Dora on August 11th.

The defendant is on the wanted list of the General Command concerning human trafficking cases under investigation.

Issa revealed the existence of an institution specialized in transporting victims on motorcycles across the Nigerian border with the Republic of Niger, to be smuggled into Libya and Europe.
