Libya’s national team advanced to the semifinals of the Africa Minifootball Championship after a thrilling 2-1 victory over Ghana in the quarterfinals, held at the “Jewel of Derna” Stadium.

The Libyan side delivered a strong first-half performance, with striker Mohannad Al-Mabrouk scoring twice in the 4th and 14th minutes. Ghana responded with a goal in the 9th minute, but the early advantage gave Libya control of the match. The home crowd witnessed a high-energy display and solid attacking cohesion from the Libyan players.

In the second half, both teams exchanged possession in the midfield in a balanced yet intense contest. Despite Ghana’s pressure, Libya maintained defensive discipline and composure, successfully protecting their lead until the final whistle.

This win secures Libya a spot in the tournament’s semifinals, keeping their hopes alive for their first Africa Minifootball title on home soil.
