The National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR) said that more than 2 million people across Libya are in urgent need of emergency relief and humanitarian support.

In a statement on the occasion of the International Humanitarian Day, NCHR added that women, men and children in the cities and areas of Tripoli, Sirte, Western Jabal, Southern Libya, Azizia, Qasr Ben Ghashir, Tarhuna, Ghat, and Daraj need to be provided with emergency humanitarian and health assistance.

The Committee celebrates the International Humanitarian Day on August 19 of each year, to express its solidarity with people affected by humanitarian crises. The celebration also aims to pay tribute to and celebrate the humanitarian workers who help those people.
