The explosion occurred on Sunday in the Skerirat area, sparking a massive fire inside the storage facility. Firefighters and emergency crews were immediately dispatched to the site. Working alongside local security and service departments, the Joint Operations Force managed to bring the fire under control and prevent further escalation that could have endangered civilians and nearby infrastructure.
The incident resulted in minor injuries among residents, but no major casualties were reported, according to the force’s statement. The fire had raised concerns among Misrata’s population due to its proximity to residential areas and the potential risk of secondary explosions.
