The Benghazi Chamber of Commerce held an official meeting with the Federation of Egyptian Industries to strengthen economic cooperation and explore new opportunities in the industrial and trade sectors.
The meeting brought together Munem Naji Al-Saeiti, Acting Chairman of the Benghazi Chamber of Commerce, Dr Mohamed Abdel Salam, Chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, Dr Hani Qaddah, the Federation’s Executive Director, and Mohamed Fathi Abu El-Fotouh, Board Member of the Egyptian Textile Industries Chamber.
Discussions focused on expanding cooperation between the two sides, with a particular emphasis on the textile and clothing industries. Both parties underlined the importance of exchanging expertise and fostering joint ventures that could enhance the role of the private sector in driving growth in both countries.
Officials highlighted that the textile sector holds significant potential for collaboration, given the shared interests of Libyan and Egyptian manufacturers and traders. By strengthening links in this field, the partnership aims to support diversification, improve quality standards, and create new business opportunities.
The meeting is part of a wider effort by the Benghazi Chamber of Commerce to develop stronger ties with regional and international partners. Economic observers believe such initiatives can play a crucial role in revitalising Libya’s private sector, particularly as the country seeks to rebuild its economy and encourage investment.
The Chamber reaffirmed its commitment to building long-term partnerships that bring lasting benefits to both Libyan and Egyptian businesses, emphasising that cooperation in textiles and apparel could be the starting point for broader industrial collaboration.
