Libya’s Fly OYA has announced the launch of its first direct domestic flight from Zintan Airport to Benina Airport in Benghazi, marking a significant step towards enhancing connectivity between western and eastern Libya.
According to the company, the inaugural flight will take off on 14 October 2025, following strong demand from the Municipality of Zintan and residents of the western region. The service aims to provide passengers with a safe, convenient, and comfortable travel experience while supporting national efforts to improve domestic air transport.
Fly OYA said the new route reflects its ongoing commitment to expanding its network and facilitating easier travel across the country. “This flight represents not just a new route, but a bridge linking Libyans from different regions,” the company stated.
The introduction of the Zintan–Benghazi flight comes amid renewed focus on developing Libya’s civil aviation sector, which has been gradually recovering after years of limited operations due to security challenges and infrastructure damage.
The company confirmed that the service will be operated using modern aircraft equipped with advanced safety and comfort standards, ensuring passengers enjoy a pleasant journey. Fly OYA also invited travellers to follow its official social media pages for updates on flight schedules, booking details, and upcoming offers.
Local residents in Zintan have welcomed the initiative, describing it as an important step towards easing travel difficulties between the two cities. The flight is expected to stimulate business, tourism, and family connections, further integrating Libya’s regions.
With the launch of this new service, Oya Fly continues to play a vital role in rebuilding Libya’s aviation links and reconnecting communities across the country.
