Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, reaffirmed that the era of terrorism in Libya has ended and that the military will not allow a return to instability or chaos.
His remarks came during an official visit to the city of Sirte, as part of his ongoing “Journey of Loyalty” tour across Libyan regions.
Lieutenant General Haftar was welcomed by elders, tribal leaders, and youth from Sirte in a reception that reflected the city’s unity, resilience, and strong national spirit. He delivered greetings from Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, the Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces, who expressed deep pride in the people of Sirte, a city that has endured war and terrorism yet remains steadfast in its faith, patriotism, and determination to rebuild.
Speaking to local leaders, Saddam Haftar praised the progress achieved in Sirte, noting that it now stands as a symbol of stability, development, and hope for the rest of the country. “Sirte is rising again as a city of peace, construction, and unity — a place where all Libyans from the east, west, and south meet under one flag,” he said.
He emphasized that the reconstruction projects and social revival underway in Sirte demonstrate the power of Libyans to rebuild their nation with vision, hard work, and loyalty. “What was destroyed by war will be restored through the will of our people,” he said, highlighting the importance of national effort and collective responsibility.
Haftar underscored that the Libyan National Army (LNA) will continue to safeguard Libya’s security and unity, ensuring that the gains of stability are preserved. “The page of terrorism has been turned forever,” he declared. “We will not allow the return of division or chaos. Libya’s strength lies in its unity, and its future will be built by its sons and daughters.”
