Libya’s national boxing team showed an outstanding performance at the 2025 Bosnia International Boxing Championship, securing two gold medals in a competition that brought together elite boxers from around the world.

According to the Libyan News Agency, boxer Ahmed Al-Koum claimed the gold medal in the 60 kg category after a series of dominant performances that showcased his technical skill, stamina, and tactical precision. His victory was seen as a major boost for Libyan boxing, demonstrating the growing strength and discipline of the country’s athletes.

In the heavyweight division, boxer Adam Adel continued Libya’s success by winning the gold medal in the +90 kg category. His strong showing and decisive final bout underscored Libya’s emergence as a serious competitor on the international boxing stage.

The Libyan Boxing Federation praised the results, describing them as the product of years of dedication and training. Federation officials said the athletes’ achievements reflect Libya’s determination to reclaim its place in regional and global sports, despite the challenges faced in recent years.

The victories come at an important moment for Libyan boxing, as the national team begins its participation in the sixth Islamic Solidarity Games, currently underway in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The event brings together athletes from dozens of countries to compete across multiple sporting disciplines.

Libyan boxer Yazan Al-Huwaij is scheduled to open the team’s campaign with a highly anticipated fight against Algerian champion Aït Beka Yougrita in the 65 kg division. The match will take place at 11:40 a.m. Libyan time, according to the Libyan Olympic Committee.

The Libyan delegation expressed confidence that the team will continue its winning momentum, building on the morale and experience gained from Bosnia. Coaches said the double gold victory was a clear signal that Libyan boxing is once again becoming a force to be reckoned with in international competitions.
