Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Abu Al-Qasim Haftar, received elders and dignitaries from the city of Gharyan, in a meeting attended by Prime Minister Osama Hammad and Chief of General Staff Lt. Gen. Khaled Haftar, at the Marshal Khalifa Haftar Military City.
During the meeting, the Gharyan delegation expressed their appreciation for the Armed Forces’ role in maintaining security and stability, affirming their full support for its leadership, which they described as “the primary guarantor of the country’s safety, stability, and institutional protection.”
Haftar Praises Gharyan Tribes for Supporting Social Peace
Haftar welcomed the delegation and praised the tribes of Gharyan for strengthening social cohesion, promoting reconciliation, and reaffirming their commitment to the unity of Libya.
He highlighted a series of achievements across eastern, central, and southern Libya — from defeating terrorism to building the national military institution — which he said paved the way for security, reconstruction, and the restoration of state authority. He also noted that some regions continue to struggle with neglect, instability, and a lack of development projects and services, issues that remain unaddressed by the responsible authorities.
Haftar warned that the current political deadlock threatens Libya’s unity and future, stressing that the real solution “will only come from the will of the Libyan people,” who must determine the country’s path and decide its destiny in a manner that preserves national unity and ensures dignity for all citizens.
