Belgassem Khalifa Haftar, Director General of Libya’s Development and Reconstruction Fund, briefed Speaker of the House of Representatives Ageela Saleh on the latest developments in national reconstruction and development projects, as part of ongoing coordination between executive and legislative authorities.
According to an official statement, the meeting focused on a comprehensive report covering the Fund’s recent tour of southern Libya. The report provided a detailed field assessment of the needs of cities and communities across the south, identifying priority service and development requirements amid long-standing infrastructure gaps and service shortages.
During the meeting, Haftar also reviewed the current status of development projects under implementation across various Libyan cities and regions. Discussions included progress rates, stages of completion, and the practical challenges facing execution, alongside measures being taken to ensure adherence to approved timelines and technical standards.
The update highlighted efforts by the Development and Reconstruction Fund to accelerate project delivery while maintaining quality benchmarks, particularly in sectors linked to essential services and infrastructure.
