Libya’s Ministry of Interior has announced the dispatch of the first batch of students from the Police Officers College to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to continue their studies at the Royal Police Academy.

According to an official statement, the cadets were received upon arrival by the Deputy Commander of the Jordanian academy, marking the start of a two-year academic and practical training programme designed to prepare them for future service within Libya’s law-enforcement institutions.

The move comes as part of the Libyan government’s broader plan to enhance the professional capabilities of its security personnel and strengthen their readiness to confront security challenges. The ministry said the programme combines theoretical education with intensive practical training, aiming to equip the students with modern policing skills, leadership competencies, and operational experience in line with international standards.

During their stay in Jordan, the cadets will undergo comprehensive courses covering police sciences, criminal investigation, public security, and field operations, alongside disciplined military-style training. Upon completion of the two-year programme, they will graduate as commissioned officers and join the ranks of the Ministry of Interior to support efforts to improve institutional performance and public safety across the country.

The ministry added that additional batches of Police Officers College students will be sent to Jordan in the coming days as part of a phased training plan. The initiative reflects Libya’s growing cooperation with Jordan in the field of security training and capacity building, and underscores the authorities’ commitment to investing in human resources as a cornerstone of long-term stability and professional law enforcement.
