The Secretary-General of the Libyan National Army General Command, Lieutenant General Khairi Al-Tamimi, held talks in Benghazi with a visiting Jordanian military delegation as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen military cooperation and expand training programs for Libyan officers.

The meeting focused on enhancing professional military education, exchanging expertise, and developing joint training frameworks between the two sides.

The discussions took place at the General Command headquarters in Benghazi, where both parties reviewed several issues of mutual interest, with particular emphasis on military courses and training programs attended by Libyan officers. Officials highlighted the importance of structured training in improving operational readiness and raising professional standards within Libya’s armed forces.

The Jordanian delegation included Colonel Abd al-Halim Bani Salama, Head of the Courses and Foreign Missions Division, and Lieutenant Colonel Mousa Al-Aqarbeh, Commander of the Special Forces and Paratroopers Battalion.

The talks underscored Jordan’s recognized experience in military training and its role in supporting the development of Libyan military personnel through specialized courses and practical training initiatives.

The meeting comes within the broader context of expanding military engagement between Libya’s General Command and the Jordanian Armed Forces.

Earlier this month, Khalifa Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army, received a senior Jordanian military delegation led by Yousef Huneiti, during which both sides discussed reinforcing strategic defense cooperation and long-term partnership mechanisms.

The recent talks also follow a visit to Amman by Saddam Khalifa Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army.

During that visit, he held meetings with Jordanian defense officials and observed live-fire tactical exercises carried out by Libyan cadets enrolled at the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center.
