The National Oil Corporation has reaffirmed its commitment to developing Libya’s natural gas sector during its participation in the 21st International Liquefied Natural Gas Conference and Exhibition (LNG2026), one of the world’s leading global energy events.

The Chairman of the National Oil Corporation, Masoud Suleiman, took part in the conference alongside a delegation from the corporation, joining senior energy executives, policymakers, and technical experts from around the world. Suleiman said Libya’s participation aims to strengthen the country’s presence in international energy forums and keep pace with rapid global developments in the liquefied natural gas industry.

He emphasized that LNG2026 provides a strategic platform to engage in high-level discussions on global energy security, sustainability, and market trends, while also offering valuable opportunities to build partnerships with major international companies and institutions. According to Suleiman, such engagement supports Libya’s long-term plans to modernize its oil and gas sector and expand cooperation in investment, technology transfer, and capacity building.

The NOC chairman noted that the corporation remains focused on exchanging expertise, exploring advanced technologies, and attracting foreign investment to accelerate the development of Libya’s gas resources. He added that strengthening the gas sector is a key pillar of Libya’s broader strategy to enhance production efficiency, diversify energy revenues, and support national economic growth.

Libya’s participation in LNG2026 reflects the NOC’s ongoing efforts to position the country as a reliable and active partner in the global energy market, despite years of political and operational challenges. The corporation views natural gas, particularly LNG, as a critical component of future energy demand and a driver of sustainable development.

LNG2026 is widely regarded as one of the most influential global gatherings for the liquefied natural gas industry, bringing together leading international companies, government officials, investors, and technical specialists. The event focuses on emerging technologies, investment opportunities, and the evolving challenges of global energy security.
