Libya’s Land Forces Chief of Staff has announced the graduation of the second batch of commando and special operations trainees, marking another step in efforts to strengthen military readiness and field capabilities.
The graduation ceremony was held at the Lamalouda Training Center after the recruits completed an intensive preparation and qualification programme. The training covered a wide range of advanced military skills designed to prepare personnel for high-risk and specialised missions.
According to the Land Forces command, the programme included commando drills, parachute training, hand-to-hand combat, explosives handling, sand-table exercises, mountain warfare, field survival, and rope tower training. These components were aimed at building both physical endurance and tactical competence among the trainees.
The curriculum also incorporated sniper skills, combat first aid, map and compass navigation, weapons handling, physical fitness, patrol execution, fieldcraft, and military communications. Officials said the comprehensive training reflects a structured approach to developing elite operational units.
Military authorities stated that the graduation demonstrates the level of discipline and readiness achieved by the trainees under the Land Forces’ ongoing plan to enhance combat efficiency. The newly qualified personnel are expected to support special operations tasks and strengthen the operational capabilities of military units.
The move comes as Libyan military institutions continue programmes focused on professional training and capacity building, particularly for specialised forces tasked with complex security missions.
