The Libyan Football Federation has issued a strong warning to clubs competing in the Libyan Premier League, cautioning against any practices that could undermine the integrity of the competition as it reaches its decisive phase.

In an official statement released from Tripoli, the federation’s board described the current period as a critical test of fairness and equal opportunity, particularly as teams battle for the league title and fight to avoid relegation.

The federation stressed that it is closely monitoring all matches and developments, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding the credibility of results and ensuring a level playing field for all participants.

Officials warned clubs against engaging in any form of misconduct aimed at influencing match outcomes or league standings. Such actions include deliberate withdrawal from fixtures or intentionally poor performance designed to manipulate results.

The statement emphasised that any attempt to secure an unfair sporting advantage at the expense of other teams would constitute a clear violation of competition regulations. The federation made it clear that strict disciplinary measures would be enforced without exception against any club found guilty of such behaviour.

The governing body also called on all teams to uphold the spirit of fair play and to act responsibly, both on and off the pitch. It highlighted the importance of preserving the reputation of Libyan football and maintaining public trust in the competition.

The warning comes at a time of intense competition, with the title race narrowing and several clubs facing the threat of relegation. The federation reiterated that it will continue its close oversight of the league throughout the remaining fixtures.

It concluded by affirming that it will not tolerate any actions that could damage the image of the sport or compromise the rights of competing clubs and their supporters.
