Residents of the Libyan city of Sirte organized a public reception to welcome fighters of the 604 Brigade of the Libyan National Army (LNA) following the completion of what officials described as successful combat operations against armed militias and terrorist groups along Libya’s southern borders.

The reception ceremony was attended by Sirte Security Director Major General Ahmed Adam Amaddi, alongside several local leaders and community figures. The event reflected public appreciation for the brigade’s return after concluding its missions in southern Libya.

Return After Operations Against Militias and Terrorist Groups

According to local authorities, the 604 Brigade carried out operations aimed at pursuing and confronting armed militias and terrorist networks operating near Libya’s southern frontier.

The operations were conducted within the framework of military campaigns carried out by the Libyan National Army under the leadership of Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, with direct supervision from the Deputy Commander-in-Chief Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar.

Officials said the missions formed part of broader efforts to strengthen security and prevent armed groups from expanding their presence in remote southern areas.

Tribute to Fallen Soldiers

During the ceremony, speakers paid tribute to the fighters of the 604 Brigade and their fellow soldiers, recalling the sacrifices made during the military operations.

Participants also honored those who lost their lives during the missions, offering prayers for the fallen soldiers and wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded.

The gathering highlighted the role of military units deployed in southern Libya in combating armed groups and securing strategic border regions.

Security Measures During the Celebration

Sirte’s Security Directorate oversaw the security arrangements for the event. Major General Ahmed Adam Amaddi personally supervised a traffic management and security plan implemented by police patrols, ensuring the celebration proceeded in an organized and safe environment.

Authorities said the measures were taken to facilitate the public gathering while maintaining security and order throughout the city.

The reception reflects ongoing public support in Sirte for military units participating in security operations across Libya’s southern regions.
