Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army, Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, has taken part in the SAHA 2026 Defence, Aviation and Space Industry Exhibition in Istanbul, Turkey.

Haftar attended the event with a delegation from the General Command, following an official invitation from the Turkish side. The exhibition brings together major defence, aviation and aerospace companies, offering a platform to present advanced military systems, technologies and industrial solutions.

During the visit, Haftar and the accompanying delegation toured several sections of the exhibition and visited a number of company pavilions. The delegation reviewed the latest developments in weapons systems, aviation technologies and modern defence equipment.

On the sidelines of the event, Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar met Turkish Defence Minister Yasar Guler, Chief of the Turkish General Staff General Selcuk Bayraktaroglu, and several senior military, security and government officials.

The meetings focused on issues of mutual interest, as well as ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination in the military and defence fields.

The visit comes as Libya continues to expand international military contacts and explore defence cooperation with regional and global partners. It also reflects growing interest in advanced defence technologies, aviation systems and security cooperation at a time when military modernisation remains a major issue across the region.

SAHA 2026 is one of Turkey’s leading defence and aerospace exhibitions, attracting official delegations, defence companies and military industry specialists from several countries.
