The Prime Minister of the Interim Government, Abdullah Al-Thinni, met with cultural, political, and civil elites in Benghazi. They discussed the implications of the current demonstrations.

The meeting included a number of jurists, intellectuals, and civil society activists. During the meeting, they exchanged views on the causes behind the deterioration of living conditions, as well as the ongoing electricity crisis.

The PM explained that the government is working without financial resources. This has pushed it to borrow over the years, to run the city’s affairs. He pointed out that the Government of National Accord (GNA), controlled the states’ oil revenues, which prevented his government from providing services, especially in the east and south of the country.
