WHO visits Libya’s Disease Control Centre in Tripoli

On Thursday, a team from the World Health Organization (WHO) visited the National Centre for Disease Control’s Virology laboratory in Tripoli to monitor diagnostic testing procedures taken to test for COVID-19 (commonly known as coronavirus)

The team observed that testing procedures were well understood

and implemented stating laboratory technicians were well trained.

Libya’s governments have closed down schools and imposed curfews for a period of two weeks to prevent and control the virus’ spread
