A Libyan diplomat affiliated with the Government of National Accord (GNA) stormed the building of the Palestinian Embassy in Nouakchott, Mauritania. He is also believed to have broken down the office of the Palestinian Ambassador, Majid Muhammad Hadeeb.

The embassy guard was unable to stop the diplomat, due to his physical strength. The attacker destroyed the contents of the ambassador’s office and broke into the kitchen, intending to set fire to the embassy.

A unit of the Mauritanian National Guard arrested the Libyan diplomat. The reasons for his actions remain unknown.
