The Speaker of the Libyan Parliament, Ageela Saleh, received a telephone call from the British Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa, James Cleverly. The two sides discussed the latest developments in the Libyan crisis.

During the call, Cleverly expressed his welcome of the recently signed ceasefire agreement, reached by the rival Libyan parties. He pointed out the need to continue work, in order to achieve a comprehensive peace settlement in Libya.

Cleverly stressed that this step represents tangible progress in the work carried out by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).

Notably, Saleh arrived in Malta on Thursday. He met with the President of Malta, George Vella, in Valletta. They discussed the political process in Libya, and the ongoing Libyan-led dialogue.
