On Wednesday, the Administrative Control Authority in Tripoli announced that an armed group bearing the logo of the ‘Special Operations Force-Tripoli Branch’ attempted to storm its headquarters. The force is known to be affiliated with the Ministry of Interior of the Government of National Accord (GNA).

In a statement, the authority stated that the armed group was accompanied by Mohamed Omar Al-Mashay, Director General of the Food and Drug Control Centre, as well as Abdullah Qaderbouh, who claims that he was appointed at the authority’s secretary according to decision No.4 of 2014.

The authority added that the incident caused a state of panic and fear among its employees, as well as residents in the surrounding region. It noted that all legal measures have been taken against the armed assailants.

It also appreciated the courageous and patriotic role of its security guards, and a number of residents, who created an impregnable barrier against the intruders.
